VAXIS’s PBW – Physics Based Water v.1.2
Physics Based Water is a complete water simulation overhaul for Red Dead Redemption 2, designed to make rivers, lakes, and shorelines feel heavy, alive, and shaped by constant motion.
v1.0 – Initial Release: 25.01.26
* Water surfaces have been updated to better reflect flow, depth, and terrain interaction.
* Horse, Arthur, fish, boats, and animals all now makes much more noticeable changes to the water surface.
* Waves now has increased travel ratio, making waves move along the water extremely far compared to vanilla.
* Rivers now carry more visible weight, with improved wave response, foam behaviour, and surface deformation during movement.
* Shorelines react more naturally to changing water conditions, with smoother transitions between shallow and deep areas.
* Reflection stability has been improved, reducing visual noise while allowing reflections to respond dynamically to wave motion.
* Surface detail and water geometry have been refined across all distances for a more consistent and natural presentation.
* Added function where shadows now also gets diffused in water.
v.1.2 – Update: 26.01.26
* Slowed down “flow/current” that follows object that moves in water.
* Fixed an issue where “flow/current” would glitch.
* Adjusted water physics behaviour for less unnatural movement that would often occur in v.1.0
* Increased wave length for smaller movements/ripples.
* visualsettings.dat is now sourced from update_1.rpf pack.
* New and better showcase video created.
v.1.2.1 – Update 30.01.26
* Reverted Reflections back to vanilla
(keep in mind that if you like reflections from another visualsettings.dat you will need to merge that yourself.
* Increased active water texture by 23% for longer visible active water.
* Minor changes in behavior.
Likely 5% performance impact should be expected.

NOTE: (Make sure to already have water settings in the menu on the highest before installation)
* Place “PhysicsBasedWater” folder in lml folder.
