RevertRed2 – RDR1 Styled ReShade v1.1
A ReShade Preset to bring back the look from the first game.
By changing color balances based on reference pictures at many locations and times of day, I attempted to make something that helps to sell the look of the original game whilst keeping it simple – no unnecessary bloom or sharpening.
Below, I have a few comparisons between RDR1, the Preset, and Vanilla – All set to the same time of day using Rampage Trainer
(Note: The Preset was not made strictly with these screenshots as reference, so the accuracy varies but tries to remain at an average)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Download the Reshade Setup
2. Run the Setup and locate your RDR2.exe, select it and click next
3. Select your Renderering API (check your settings, I use Vulkan since that improves performance but I’m not sure it matters for this) and click next
4. If this is your first time installing, click whichever option says something about Installing it and move on. If you already have Reshade, click “Update ReShade and Effects” and click next
5. Select the following effects and click next:
– Standard effects
– SweetFX by CeeJay.dk
– Color effects by prod80
– GShade-Shaders by Marot
6. Once in-game, open the Reshade menu (‘Home’ key by default) and, after going through a tutorial, click the dropdown menu on the top of the Home tab and find the RevertRed2.ini directory; select the preset, confirm, and it should work.
