Core Regen v1.3
A simple mod that allows the user to enable automatic regeneration of cores. It features modularity, allowing the player to chose how often, and how much each core should regenerate.
Required:
ScriptHookRDR2 V2
This is a simple script I made for my own playthrough.
I wanted the possibility for my cores to slowly regenerate while being out of combat, or resting after running. It always seemed out of place for me, that the only way for players to recuperate after a long sprint, is to stuff their face with food.
Playing with the mod “Basic Needs” also changes the way players engage with food, making it both a survival mechanic in addition to the health mechanic. To avoid any “Fat Arthur” playthroughs due to over eating, I figured it makes sense for cores to also regen while resting.
This mod allows the player to control which cores should auto regenerate, how much or little they should, and how often each tick of regeneration should occur.
There’s further modularity through optional multipliers.
Configuration
All settings can be customized in the CoreRegen.ini file.
Core Regeneration
Each core (Health, Stamina, and Dead Eye) can be configured independently. You can enable or disable regeneration for each core, set how often regeneration occurs (in seconds), and choose how much to regenerate per tick.
Dead Eye regeneration is disabled by default since smoking already provides a fun way to restore it.
Regeneration Modifiers
The mod includes three optional modifiers that boost your regeneration rate based on what you’re doing. The Riding Modifier increases regeneration when you’re on horseback. The Sitting Modifier gives a bonus when you’re sitting on chairs, benches, or other seats. The Standing Still Modifier provides a small boost when you’re not moving. All modifiers can stack together – for example, standing still while on your horse.
Combat Conditions
By default, regeneration only occurs when you’re safe – meaning you’re not in combat and don’t have a wanted level. You can also optionally require the player to be standing still for regeneration to occur.
Chime Suppression
The mod includes an option to suppress the core fill chime sound for deadeye and stamina during regeneration (Chime is suppressed by default).
Optional Health Chime Sound Removal
The optional files section includes a sound replacement that silences the health core regeneration chime. Without this, the health core plays a chime sound at 40-second intervals during regeneration. Two versions are provided: a standalone version and a version compatible with Rededrunk’s Realistic Law Dispatch Response (which also modifies FRONTEND.awc). Only install one version.
Installation
Place CoreRegen.asi and CoreRegen.ini in your game directory (where RDR2.exe is located).
If using the optional health chime removal, place either the standalone or Rededrunk-compatible version in your lml folder – not both. If using the Rededrunk-compatible version, ensure it loads after Realistic Law Dispatch Response in your load order.
