TAUNTS – Dynamic Voice Line System
Bring Arthur and John’s personality to life with over 2000 hand-curated and specifically chosen voice lines that react to the world around you. Ever felt like the player was too quiet after a gunfight? Wished he’d have something to say to that dying O’Driscoll? This mod restores and repurposes generic, unused, cut, and underutilized voice lines from Arthur and Johns VERY extensive audio library, creating a dynamic taunt system that makes every encounter feel more alive.

VERSION 1.5
– Auto Taunts (off by default) — Automatically taunt when peds change states (ragdoll, dying, dead, etc.) with per-state chance settings
– Auto Combat Taunts (off by default) — Automatically taunt during combat at random intervals (configurable, default 30-60 sec.
– Combat taunt prompt text now customizable in INI

VERSION 1.4 HAS IMPLEMENTED JOHN MARSTON TAUNTS
Over 880 specific and generic lines for different ped states and conditions have been implemented for JOHN MARSTON.

V1.4 further adds 552 ADDITIONAL lines for ARTHUR, giving him a total of 1.114 specific and generic lines he can taunt peds with.

This gives an insane amount of variation to the taunts you will hear throughout the game.

These have been selected manually, by me (spending ALOT of time) listening to thousands upon thousands of voice lines one by one, carefully selecting the ones that fits into a specific taunt for a specific state and condition. You can lead more about the states and conditions in the sections below:

MANUAL TAUNTS
Taunt Injured & Defeated Peds
Aim at or look at a ped in distress and press Y (Controller) or E (Keyboard) to deliver a context-appropriate taunt. The system selects voice lines based on:

Ped States
– Dead – Corpse on the ground
– Writhing – Bleeding out, on the ground
– Fatally injured – Staggering, walking wounded
– Incapacitated – Knocked down
– Ragdoll hurt – Just shot, falling, low health
– Fleeing – Running away in fear

Additional Conditions

The mod also considers:
– Gender – Specific lines for female targets
– Gang Members – Different lines for hostile gang members
– Nearby Peds – Acknowledges when others are watching
– Nearby Dead – References fallen enemies
– Cowering – Specific lines for intimidated peds

COMBAT TAUNTS – Mid-Fight Voice Lines
During active combat, Arthur can deliver taunts based on the battle situation. These aren’t random – they’re selected based on gunfight conditions:

Gunfight Conditions
– Single Enemy – “Come on then!” style lines
– Multiple Enemies – “All of you at once!” style lines
– Fighting Lawmen – Law-specific dialogue
– Dead Bodies Nearby – Acknowledges fallen enemies
– Honor-Based – Different lines for high/low honor (optional setting, disabled by default)

Melee Combat Conditions:
– Male Opponent – Gender-specific antagonizing
– Female Opponent – Gender-specific antagonizing
– After Landing a Hit – Celebrating a good punch
– After Taking a Hit – Responding to getting hit
– Multiple Opponents – Acknowledging the odds

Look at the ped you want to combat taunt, or take cover and taunt them from there.

AGGRESSION EFFECT – Provoke Your Enemies
When Arthur taunts during combat, there’s a chance (35% by default, configurable in the ini) that 1-2 enemies will become enraged and break from cover to charge directly at you. This creates opportunity for you to get peds out of cover to shoot them.
