RDR2 Random World Encounters v0.5
RDR2 Random World Encounters mod adds spontaneous chaotic ambient events to the game world: NPCs randomly fighting each other, attacking the player, predatory animals spawning and hunting nearby characters, muggings, horse bucking incidents, and dynamic weather changes. This mod is inspired by crossed99’s “Ambient Random Events”.
RDR2 Random World Encounters
Because the Wild West Wasn’t Wild Enough
Ever thought to yourself, “You know what Red Dead Redemption 2 needs? More random violence and general mayhem”?
Well, partner, you’ve come to the right place! This mod turns the already chaotic world of the Wild West into a complete circus of unexpected encounters.
What This Mod Actually Does
Event 1: NPC Fight Club
“The first rule of NPC Fight Club is… actually, there are no rules.”
Randomly picks two innocent NPCs near you and makes them duke it out for absolutely no reason whatsoever. One moment they’re peacefully going about their business, the next they’re throwing punches like they’re in a saloon brawl. The best part? You get to watch from the sidelines with popcorn while the law might eventually show up to sort out the mess.
What happens: Two random NPCs suddenly develop beef with each other
Why: Because reason!
Who wins: Usually nobody, when the law arrives
Event 2: “Why Is Everyone Mad at Me?”
“Congratulations! You’ve been randomly selected for a beatdown!”
Remember that time you accidentally bumped into someone and they held a grudge forever? This event is like that, except the NPC decides to skip the grudge part and go straight to violence. A random person near you will suddenly decide you’re their mortal enemy and attempt to introduce their fists to your face.
What happens: Some random dude or dudette decides that it’s finally enough with you being around!
Survival tip: Run or fight back, maybe the law can help you!
Event 3: “Nature Documentary Gone Wrong
“And here we see the majestic bear, about to ruin someone’s entire day.”
Ever wanted to see what happens when a wild animal crashes the party?
This event spawns a random predator (bear, cougar, wolf, etc.) near an unsuspecting NPC. It’s like a nature documentary, except David Attenborough isn’t narrating and someone’s probably about to become lunch. You should be extra cautious now, especially when the sun has set and the predators are out!
What spawns: Bears, cougars, wolves, and other “nope” animals
Entertainment value: High (assuming you’re not the target)
Recommended viewing distance: Very far away
Event 4: The Great Wagon Robbery Event
“Coming soon™”
This event is currently under construction.
Event 5: “Give me your wallet!”
“Random Citizen Gets Robbed”
You’re not the only outlaw in this town anymore! Thugs and robbers are roaming the streets after dark, picking their next victim!
What happens: Some random NPC decides to grab some extra coins.
Citizen panic: Watch nearby innocent bystanders scatter
Law enforcement response: The law (if they notice what’s going on) will respond to the scene.
Event 6: Buckle up Buckaroo!
“Hop, Hop Rider…”
NPC horses get startled from time to time
What happens: A random NPC horse is bucking, trying to throw off the rider
Also added: Dynamic Weather – with a twist
A thunderstorm that can get particularly dangerous – try to seek shelter
A hurricane – WIP
Foggy weather – WIP
Configuration Options
Enable Blips: Because you need to know exactly where the chaos is happening
Event Frequency: How often you want your peaceful ride to be interrupted by random violence or weather changes
Debug Logging: For when you want to know the technical details of why that NPC just punched a bear
Perfect For Players Who…
Think RDR2 needs more random encounters
Enjoy watching NPCs make questionable life decisions
Have already completed the story and need more randomness
Installation
Unzip the contents of the zip-file into your RDR2 main directory (where the exe is located).
You will need Script Hook RDR2 by Alexander Blade.
Known Issues
NPCs sometimes decide not to do anything. If this is the case, just ride on – the event will eventually clear itself.
Might cause issues during the campaign – Although the mod recognizes if you are currently playing a mission.
